Camarillo Community Church (CamCC.net) has a long legacy in youth ministry and is looking for a leader of the next generation. A leader who is not afraid to go to depths of Scripture with students while also being a visionary of attractional ministry that brings in the lost. We are enthusiastic about worship and being a part of the community, not just in it. Camarillo Community Church is a strong, Christ-centric, Bible-believing church that believes in family deep discipleship, passionate worship, community impact, intentional outreach, and lifting up Scripture.
Camarillo Community Church has been a part of the Camarillo Community for over 50 years. We have always been known for being a Christ focused church. Two years ago, after their long-term lead pastor retired, CamCC hired Pastor David Hurtado. He is leading the church into a new and exciting era. Many updates have occurred as well as growth in the congregation. The congregation is currently around 450 adults on a Sunday morning. As part of his leadership, David has brought forth new vision and values that are received well and exhibit a glimpse of the Kingdom of God. Many of the staff of the church are veteran ministers with a wealth of knowledge and experience, though several are young.
The church has various ministries including a robust Youth Department (4th & 5th grade, Middle School, & High School), Children’s Ministries (Pre-school, K-3, AWANA, Seven C’s Day Care), and Growth Groups (small groups). The facility consists of two large buildings, one of which is primarily used for youth ministry. Our primary services are on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM & 10:45 AM. Youth Services are currently only during the second service. High School Ministry (The Call) has a midweek program on Wednesday nights from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Historically our High School program’s average attendance has been from the upper 30s to the low 50s.
Camarillo Community Church is in need of an up and coming youth minister that has the raw talent to teach, administrate and minister to youth. The High School Pastor will need to both be intentional and motivated. With Pastor David’s vision, the church has become a strong hybrid of a Bible teaching church while embracing many attractional methods. Our Sundays are geared towards the believer, with opportunities for non-believers to come to know Jesus. The High School Pastor will develop a yearly plan for the high school ministry of our church and community structured around evangelistic outreach, discipleship, worship, the fellowship of believers and encouraging students to volunteer in ministry. This includes planning major outreach events, camps, and other opportunities for new students to come. They will also need to prepare biblical sermons for students and small group questions relevant to Scripture and their lives. A unique part of this opportunity is that the High School Pastor may have the opportunity to preach in the adult services.
The candidate that we are looking is the right person rather than just the best resume. We want a person with a shepherd’s heart who is called to youth ministry, not just as a stepping stone to other ministry positions. A leader with a strong teaching gift, humility, and ambition for God’s kingdom, not for themselves. A believer who has a deep faith and strong biblical conviction. Camarillo Community Church is looking for a teachable self-starter who will think outside the box and try new attractional concepts to bring in new students. Someone who has or is willing to go to seminary and is a life-long learner. While education and experience are preferred, we will look at all applicants who follow the steps laid out in our hiring process and are willing to work with those working on their bachelors.
