Camarillo Community Church Ministry Leader Position

Purpose:

The purpose of this ministry is to develop, implement and maintain an effective assimilation system that will make contact with every visiting person along with all those who call Camarillo Community Church their home and encourage them along an intentional pathway to spiritual growth and fulfilled ministry. Our ultimate goal is to help each person feel valued, connected, and vital to the body of Christ.

Ministry Goals:

  • Develop a team of gifted people to plan, develop, and lead the assimilation process.

  • Review all existing assimilation ministry activity for effectiveness and make any necessary changes bringing them in line with the new mobilization strategy.

  • Plan a clear step-by-step intentional strategy for each and every person coming to this church, helping them understand the next steps to being included in the vital life of the church body.

  • Plan to focus on two groups within the church and decide how to bring them along in ministry opportunities in the church body or outside in our local community by:

    1. Helping new people understand the church and our equipping ministry values and by connecting them into the church community.
    2. Helping existing members extend their involvement beyond Sunday morning attendance and find meaningful ministry opportunities.
  • Facilitate our mission "to build an ever-expanding community of fully devoted followers of Christ."

Position Specifics:

This person serves as leader for a team of volunteers to accomplish this ministry purpose. Duties include the recruitment and formulation of a team; establishment of team goals and action plans; training and development of team members; communication with other volunteer teams; facilitation and encouragement of the spiritual growth and "community" of team members, and the periodic evaluation of team effectiveness. This person may also supervise subordinate ministry team leaders.

Position Qualification, Skills, Gifts, and Abilities:

The person in this position should have training and/or experience in managing resources, and leading and influencing others; possess good communication and planning skills. Spiritual gifts desired include administration, leadership, teaching, and shepherding.

Training and Development:

The person in this position will be provided a full orientation and briefing on the "equipping church" plans for Camarillo Community Church. An IDP will be prepared in collaboration with the supervisor to help perform effectively in the position. This person will be encouraged to attend periodic leadership training opportunities.

Review/Reporting Relationship:

This person will report to a designated staff member who will be a supervisor and mentor to provide periodic feedback on ministry effectiveness.
